Curling NB Announces 2027 Canada Games Chair

Canada Winter Games 2027

Quebec City

Curling NB Canada Winter Games 2027 Committee

The Canada Winter Games 2027 will take place at Quebec City. The games will run from February 26 to March 15, 2027. This is exciting not only from a competition perspective but also historically. Quebec is the birthplace of the Canada Games as it hosted the first games in 1967.

Curling NB has put in place a committee to plan the lead up to our selection process. The committee consists of Chairperson Gary Wilson, Brian Rice, and John Corbin. Catherine McLean and the Competition Committee will assist them.

Our Chairperson, Gary Wilson is well versed when it comes to the Canada Games as he is a two-time Alumni as a coach at the Canada Summer Games in Regina 2005 for Rugby and Canada Winter Games in Red Deer 2019 for Curling.

Brian Rice has over forty years of experience in coach and athlete development. He is currently Curling NBs Master Learning Facilitator. John Corbin brings over thirty years of coaching in multiple sports and is currently Curling NBs Technical Director.

Men’s, Ladies and Mixed Doubles will be played at the games. Curling Canada is the Governing Body who set the rules and regulations for curling at the CWGs. Curling Canada is currently reviewing the age requirements for CWGs curling with an announcement expected in March 2024.

If you have any questions for the committee, you can contact any member but request that you always CC the Chairperson Gary Wilson.
